Up to Eleven
A week ago I completed my second ever Olympic Distance Triathlon. In case you're unfamiliar with triathlon lingo, it means, 0.9 miles swimming, 24.8 miles of cycling followed by 6.2 miles of running. Bellingham has had the very popular Lake Padden Triathlon (shorter distance) for years but this was the first annual Lake Whatcom Triathlon. So of course I had to participate and I was even more stoked that I got to choose my bib number. I'm sure you know what number I chose, especially if you looked at the picture already too.
Yes, there in that photo are all of my ribbons and medals from all the 5k's, 10k's, 25k, Half's & a Full Marathon, Sprint & Olympic Distance Triathlons along with my most recent Bib, #11. I don't normally care too much about race bibs but this one is special. This one has my number. I can't tell you how great it was to hear strangers and friends alike calling me Eleven during the race. People who didn't know my name saying things like, "way to go Eleven!" made me smile. Yes, I am an Eleven, my business is called Eleven northwest and my life path number is 11. I've always loved that number as it's repeatedly appeared at distinct moments throughout my lifetime. I was even sailing against a boat named "Goes to Eleven" last Thursday in Bellingham bay. What are the odds? So I'm attempting to figure out how turn the dial up all the way, cranking the volume up to Eleven. Who says we have to stop at 10?
That in itself can be interpreted in so many ways. How do I mean it you say? In all the ways. I'm striving to be the best that I can be. I want to move beyond my fears and reach for the furthest stars I can only imagine in my dreams. That's what I mean. I want to access the untapped potential and really live by my motto, "You have to believe it to see it." I'm working on the believing part, it certainly doesn't happen overnight to change 34 years worth of beliefs built from my life's experiences. But I want to believe that there's more to it and I want to choose what to believe from here forward. More and more science is proving the biology of belief, experiments in the quantum field are demonstrating the power of intention and expectations. Matter follows energy, we are the creators (albeit haphazardly most of the time) because most of us don't realize we are the source of our creations. The creations that show up as "reality" in our lives.
Most of us live our lives on autopilot. We have been trained to think that we don't have as many choices as we do on a lot of very basic levels. And there's lots of reasons for that as well, some good, some not so good, and though I hate to admit, some very very bad reasons. The point is we have to wake up to the fact that no matter how conditioned we have been, no matter where we are at in our lives, we can always choose to believe something different. We can choose to become more aware of how we are living our lives, how our auto-pilot programming is operating and if we decide we don't like the direction "auto" is taking us we can turn it off and take the helm. (Sailor speak taking over, ahem...) In other words we can decide to drive our own car instead of just being the passenger, we can take a right instead of a left more easily when we have our hands on the wheel.
All of it starts with being present enough with ourselves to take responsibility for the lives we are living. If you're happy and life is good, great, keep going, get happier, keep making life better. But if you're not, look deep inside your home computer system and consider upgrading your software that is keeping you locked into the same box doing the same thing. And remember you always have a choice, you have a lot of choices, moment by moment, day by day. The things you think affect the way you feel which affects the way you act and the actions you take and the things you create in your life. Take a moment to really consider this. Life is full of distractions for a reason. A lot of things in life happen for a reason and we always love to prove ourselves right even when we wish we were wrong about something. I know I do, especially when I find myself creating what I don't want, like running down the trail thinking about how much it would suck to step in dog poop and then squish. Aw, shit, why was I thinking about that? Same thing different day, different thing same day... anyway.... the point is to be vigilant and focus on what we do actually want in our lives. Like completing this race in a better place than I did previously.
The first olympic triathlon I competed in I just wanted to be able to finish, so I took it relatively easy and paced myself. I've been taught, "Better safe than sorry". I finished and I wasn't even sore the next day! This triathlon, I really just wanted to finish as well, but I wanted to finish faster than I did last time so I pushed a little harder and I finished faster but I still wasn't even sore the next day. I didn't turn the dial all the way up, I played it safe again. I was still really happy with my finish time and of course I loved not getting hurt from it but I know I can do better. I know I have the potential in me to keep improving in so many ways, if only I can get past my unreasonable fear of getting hurt. If only I can push past my current comfort level, beyond the usual "better safe than sorry" conditioning. Life is about more than comfort and safety. I think often times our capacity for greatness is severely hindered by our inherent biological craving for safety. It's time to push that boundary even if only slightly and a little more each time. That's what I'm working on anyway, if it goes to eleven, I want to see what it's like to turn it up all the way.
Although I do think I'm turning it up more and more all the time, stepping beyond what I used to think was possible. Did I mention that when I went to pick up my race-packet the day before the start, an Ironwoman named Mary told another lady who was wo-manning the booth that I was going to hula hoop during the entire run portion. I'm sure the look of shock & surprise on my face was funny as I was thinking, yeah right, hooping is enough of a workout standing still. I smiled and said "that would be cool but I'm not planning on it". However the seed was planted and with little reminder/suggestion and help from my man Mark, I did hoop and run the last little bit. Apparently I had plenty left in the tank... swim, bike, run, then run while hula hooping across the finish. Uh huh, crazy right? And oh so much fun.
Life is supposed to be fun!
Anyway, I could spend all day writing but I have a painting I want to start working on so I better get to it. Thanks for sharing this beautiful planet with me. I hope you all have a wonderful day.
Solstice Surprise
A couple weeks ago I was in my Clairvoyance class on a Friday evening at Simply Spirit. Jill was out of town for the weekend so we had a substitute teacher. I had met Sarah Rose previously at Healing Hour on a Wednesday and was stoked to get to talk with her in this relaxed classroom setting. (She's super cool.) We were all chatting beforehand and she was telling a story about how she wanted to be in Hawaii on the Solstice but didn't know exactly how to make it happen. I got the impression that she believed that it would happen partially because she really wanted it to. As she spoke those words I felt a strange twinge in my solar plexus, not quite realizing at the time what it was. Something stuck a chord and I came to see later that I had the same desire. I wanted to be in Hawaii on the Solstice too.
Consciously I wrote it off and let it go. It didn't make any sense for me to go to Hawaii for the solstice. I don't have extra cash like that just laying around and I have so much stuff on my to-do list at home. I continued on with my projects and after paying off some credit card bills I realized I need to figure some things out fast because the amount of freedom in my bank account is shrinking rapidly. My heart sank, thinking about having to get a "real" job again made me feel all kinds of uncomfortable. I admit that there is something somewhat appealing about working for someone else and collecting a paycheck without having all the risk and responsibility of being a business owner. There's also something very unappealing about losing the power to make ones own decisions by working for someone else. I felt the stress constricting the vessels in my heart. With financial worries in the back of my mind I immediately deleted an email from HayHouse about a writers workshop with Doreen Virtue. Not only was it an extra $650 +tax for the workshop, it was in Hawaii so I would need plane tickets too. Ugh, sigh... back to checking things off my to do list.
For some reason that email stuck in my head. As I was trying to focus on getting some work done thoughts floated through my mind like "I want to meet Doreen Virtue and the CEO of HayHouse.... I want the chance to have the book I've been working on published with HayHouse. I want to go to Hawaii!" UGH. The inner desire and tension was mounting so I put it out there to the universal force, if I'm meant to go to that work shop I will get the money somehow. I searched for other signs that it was meant to be, I got all kinds of excited thinking about going. Then I got the opportunity to help out a friend of a friend doing some Canvas work. Within a short amount of time I had made the $650. It didn't just float to me, I worked my butt off for it but the timeframe and opportunity was perfect. It didn't solve my long term financial issues but it was a step in the direction of my dreams.
Now about those plane tickets... not too long ago my ex-husband reminded me about my Alaska Air mileage account because he was still getting mail for me from them. I got the impression he hated getting any reminders of me so I called Alaska Air right away to have them change my address. That was easy but they told me I had to e-mail them proof of my name change in order to get that changed on the account. I figured I had plenty of time to do that because I was planning on using the miles later on for a trip somewhere with my Mom. We had talked about Mexico or Jamaica but it was too far out to get tickets for yet so I asked my Mom about using the miles for the workshop instead of our trip and she gave me the go ahead. Suddenly it was a rush to get my name changed so I could use the miles. A little more stress from wanting to go and still not knowing if it would work out turned into purchasing a Roundtrip ticket for a grand total of $11.20 after taxes and fees using all the miles I had accrued. I guess it was meant to be!
Quite awhile back I had also talked about going to visit my friend Jasmine who lives in Hawaii but wrote it off because of time and cost. Just so happens that she lives near where the workshop shop is being held. She's even going to pick me up from the airport!!! I'm so excited I get to spend some time with her too. And I have decided to travel light.... no checked bags, just my backpack and my ukulele. I don't have all the details worked out for after I get there but I'm trusting in that greater force and allowing the flow of life to lead me in the right direction after I land in Tropical Paradise. I'm just looking forward to learning more about how to finish and publish my books and I'm excited to meet new people. I've been day-dreaming about drinking straight from the green coconuts and I really hope those little purple passion-fruits are ripe this time of year!
Thank you Sarah Rose for igniting that spark of intention. Woo-hoo, I get to be in Hawaii on the Solstice too!
And Thank you to the mysterious powers that be for guiding me in this crazy lifetime. I have received so many different re-affirming signs about taking this trip that it's hard to believe I ever questioned it.
Wide Open Spaces
In my head everyday the songs play out as if my life is not just a movie but a musical. If you only knew...
I wish I could telepathically communicate with you right now instead of communicating with these somewhat cumbersome (and at times confusing) words tapped out with my fingertips. I have a lot going on. What time is it? It's time to take action. Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care? I care and to every thing turn, turn, turn there is season... and a time to every purpose under heaven. See I told you and not only that I need wide open spaces like the scene above to clear my head.
Hiking up the towering hunk of granite yesterday, called by "The Chief" by the locals, I was awestruck by the sheer awesomeness of the views. As we climbed from 1st Peak to 2nd Peak to 3rd we just kept getting higher and higher. Only issue was, as they say, what goes up must come down. That trail is uber magical and insanely steep, let me tell you it was most definitely the longest 6-mile round-trip hike I have ever done and worth every sweaty step. It's almost time for me to take off for line-dance class at the grange but before I go and check another item off my crazy long task list I want to tell you about my newest venture.
I was at the beach the other day with my hoops, of course and I met a guy named Joshua who just so happened to be a hooper who is super cool too! He bought a beautiful newly made hoop from me and told me about a space where I could possibly hold hoop classes for the masses. (Okay, maybe not the masses but it's a good-sized space.) I've been wanting to share my love of spinning these circles around and one thing keeps leading to another. I can only take it as a sign that I'm headed in the right direction. Who doesn't need more fun and joyfulness in their lives? I hope you all realize that I'm just a down-to earth free-spirited girl who is doing my best to do what I love while encouraging you all to do the same. I want whats best for everyone and I want to share all the love I have with you. Hooping just seems to be one way to do this.
So in order to put my best foot forward I also signed up with Deanne Love for her online Hoop Love Coach training program this morning. Actually, I was sorta getting cold feet over the whole thing. When I went to her website after getting another reminder email about the June session, I thought, hmmm.... so I clicked a button to find out the total cost thinking it would give me another chance to opt out but low and behold it said "Payment Complete" those three other steps I was expecting didn't happen and I was signed up before I could back out. Not only is it meant to be (apparently), it's an investment I'm willing to make in order to share the best of the best with all of you while supporting her mission too. I've also been told sometimes the best way to learn something is to teach it, (that's never been easy for me) so here I go. Learning and teaching simultaneously, since as you may have already gathered by looking at my site... I love to do it all and all at once.
I gotta run but Thank you for existing in my world and sharing this lifetime with me.
Back in my own person mash-up musical... I got a feeling.... because I'm happy... and I got that sunshine in my pocket... woo hoo! Music makes me wanna move cuz baby I'm worth it.
What's Up?
"...I cry sometimes when I'm lying in bed, just to get it all out what's in my head and I'm feeling a little peculiar... and so I wake in the morning and I step outside and I take a deep breath and I get real high and I scream at the top of my lungs, What's going on?" These lyrics from a 4 Non Blondes song keep rolling through my head. In fact, I even attempted to learn how to play it on the guitar and recorded my somewhat sad attempt on video. What is going on with me? I haven't written any blog posts here for awhile so I figured it was due time. As soon as I finish this post I am going to work some more on my book about sailing across the Atlantic as a way to escape my current emotional state.
As the full brunt of the Moon is waxing into a gibbous state I sense the pressure easing a bit in my skull. The water that makes up most of this body sure has had a lot of pull over my internal state of affairs as of recently. As you can possibly tell by my most recent watercolor painting (which I like best after being modified with the #prisma app). The way I was feeling came out through the brush in a mix of colorful streaks. Feeling the weight of the concrete jungle world entangled with the subtle energies of the earth with all it's inhabitants twisted with my perception in time. What is this feeling I'm lacking the talent to shake? Obscured by the clouds of my own insecurity the walls of doubt are inviting me in. What's going on?
It's springtime and the sun has been shining, except for today, today it rained, it rained so hard I thought the sky was falling. It doesn't rain that hard that often here in the northwest, usually it rains a lot but oh so gently for a long period of time. Today it just dumped down all at once. The raging rivers in the gutters created forceful waterfalls shooting out the spouts as I watched out the window during the thick of it. Thankful at the time to be indoors in a safe, warm house, able to watch the torrent from up high. I stayed in bed for a long time today and if it weren't for a call asking for a ride home from school I may not have even left the house at all.
I have so much going on inside this amazing house where I get to live. I spent most of the morning making videos to upload to my newly approved for monetization youtube channel. Finally maybe I can bring some income in from my creative love of being a shutterbug constantly capturing life in action around me. I have so many ideas and I have the time to implement them too. I'm taking steps, some small some big, some may not get me anywhere but I'm full of hope for potentials. Yet there's something nagging at me. Something beneath the surface that I can't quite put my finger on. This life, these dreams I have while I'm awake and the dreams I have at night, the vivid pictures spinning around, the shots of Deja vu that sting me with wonderment of the meaning of it all. It's got to give, this life I live, I need a reason for all this energy, for all these ideas, for all the love I feel that I want to share but feel is already misunderstood. The urge for the collective of humanity to wake up and smell the freedom right inside our own noses.
It stinks, I know, I smell it too and I just know there must be something I can do. But what?
Good Intentions
I woke up this morning, like I do a lot of mornings, with the urge to write. Unlike most mornings where I stifle the urge with distractions (like facebook) or make excuses (like "I have to finish my laundry first") this morning I grabbed my computer and I'm laying in bed with coffee attempting to write what seemed so profound to share as I was lingering in the in-between dream/waking state. It's all tied together in my head yet as I write the emotion of inspiration is fading and I wonder if more sips of coffee will be the answer. Coffee always seems to help multiple things in multiple ways after-all.
A Randy Travis song swims into my awareness as I think about the title of this post. His words have stuck with me since I was a little girl sitting on the back of the tractor while my Dad was listing to country music on the radio. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions, but... my intentions were the best." Why did that strike me and why is it in my head now? I think it's because I'm realizing fully that my good intentions are not enough. I have to back them up with action and make a very conscious effort to extend beyond lifetimes of unconscious programming. I say "lifetimes" because it's beyond just me, it's what my parents learned from their parents, who learned from their parents, who were all just doing their best (like all of us are) based on commonly accepted knowledge at respective times in history and culture. The tricky part is to stop making excuses, step out of our comfort zone, trust in ourselves and make our good intentions known.
I intend to make a difference in this world. In order to do that I have to truly step out of my comfort zone. I know I need to take risks, the biggest risk is feeling vulnerable by putting myself out there. I love so deeply, I feel so strongly, I am so passionate about so many things and what if you find out about them? Is it safe for me to share when there's so many differences of opinion out there about what I "Should" do with my life, with my time during this time on this planet? More and more I realize I just have to say Fuck it and do it anyway. (And I know that word is offensive to some people, my intention is not to offend, it's just a great word with such strong force that nothing else compares. Just think about how many other "acceptable" words people try to use in it's place to convey the same meaning, why not just use the real word?) The point being we all seem to care too much about little things (like words) that don't really matter in the big picture.
The big picture being that these lifetimes are precious, we are all valuable and there is more than enough for everyone. It's time we wake up to the fact that we are all so intimately connected and we have more power than we think. I know you've heard this theme ringing throughout my blog but I have to keep reminding myself too. I have been conditioned yet without a doubt in my heart I know this is true. There's got to be a way to get beyond that conditioning, that programming. The road to hell is only paved with good intentions if we let our intentions be driven into the ground by what we feel we "should" do because someone told us to or by just running on automatic and doing what we have always done.
It takes serious effort not to judge other people but especially not to judge ourselves. It's time to stop the judgements that make us all feel like poo. All aspects of the great spirit (God) are within each and every one of us, therefore we are not here to judge and we are not to be judged either (by ourselves or by God). We are here to learn and to express the pure and deepest desires in our hearts. We are here to breath the fresh air, swim in the water, taste the fruit, feel the love, to be inspired and to create our dreams. And the coolest part is that we all want different things and we all have different lessons to learn and different ways of doing things. So not only do we get to learn from each other, we get to work with each other with our different gifts and specialties.
It's divine, it's beautiful and sometimes it's a mess. Time to get dirty so we can clean up. I've shed more tears than I wish to share, I've been through hard times and made plenty of mistakes, some of which I'm still learning from. There's things I regret (though I try not to dwell on them) and I still judge myself harshly at times as I look at my shadow side. We all have our own demons to slay, this being human stuff is very challenging at times, but my point is, it's all worth it. For all the pain there's so much joy and beauty. Breaking beyond the fear and trusting in the process as it unfolds while becoming stronger with each experience. I have good intentions for the rest of my life and I intend to make the most of them by taking actions that are in alignment with my heart. We all have innate intuition and I'm finally starting to trust mine as well as hear/see/feel it more clearly and I hope you will too.
Anyway, enough for now, it's time for the task list, there's always chores that need to be done and I will enjoy them more knowing that I took the time to write first. Thanks for sharing this journey with me.
Shutter Bug
Mount Cheam, Agassiz British Columbia
I take a lot of photos and I want to share the best of them but the whole process of editing, organizing and uploading is where I have trouble. I love to attempt to capture the beauty that I see everywhere I go and I love looking at them later as reminders of where I have been. I just wish I had a better method for processing as well as a good outlet for them to be seen and shared and used. For now this blog will have to suffice for sharing small snippets of my shutter buggy-ness until I get the gallery on the website rolling. Amongst many of my long-term projects and good intentions I still have to get out and experience life and adventure first hand. Most of this computer stuff can wait, right?
The image above is from my most recent trip to supernatural British Columbia with my famous and beautiful friend Kamala Chambers from Thriving Launch who I've known since high school. We picked up a snowboarding hitch-hiker on our way up to Hemlock Valley resort to go Skiing for Ladies day after spending the night at Harrison Hot-Springs. When we picked Bryana up she was drenched from standing out in the rain waiting for a ride. We all hoped the mountain would be high enough that the rain would turn to snow when we arrived. Instead we skied in the rain and got very, very wet so it didn't last too long. In fact I was ready to bail before we left the slippery parking lot but Kamala was encouraging so we got our free lift tickets and braved the wetness. Fortunately, the best part of the ski-trip was making a new friend and so we offered her a ride back down the mountain. As we drove back into the lowlands the sky opened up revealing a magical landscape of ice crystals and rainbows.
When we arrived at the Abundance Farm where Bryana lives, the sounds as we stepped out of the car for a stretch were wild. Sunbeams hitting the ice coated willow trees combined with a light breeze made the landscape come alive with sounds of crackling, falling, shattering bits of frozen water. Lots of photos and videos were taken in a short amount of time and then we were back on the road headed towards home. Our entry back into the States was much easier than our entry into Canada which reminds me I need to update my Nexus Card. It was a quick and wonderful trip in some potentially hazardous weather but with my amazing AWD Toyota Highlander (aka the "Love-mobile") we plowed through snow drifts, splashed through muddy puddles and had good traction on sheets of ice making it home safely and happily. I'm looking forward to many more adventures up into Canada and beyond. Next adventure starts this weekend with Sailing around Shaw Island in the beautiful Salish Sea.
Happy 2017!
It's already the 2nd week of January, 2017 and it's been almost a month since my last blog post. Time flies when you're having fun. I had high expectations for myself last fall in regard to certain projects I wanted to have finished by now. Instead of buckling down and doing the nitty gritty work I have been saying yes to adventures and playing instead. Life is too short to work all the time right? We never know how long we have and the most important things in life aren't things. They are experiences and in that sense I feel I have not wasted a moment of my time. Maybe I set my expectations too high but I'm not disappointed in myself, I've just had to re-adjust my perspective and perceptions. The Eagle has been one of my key spirit animals assisting me on my path. Eagles are symbolic of great strength along with the ability to see the big picture and I have been blessed with many reminders by my physical encounters with them. I'm also very grateful to be aware of my connection with them and with the spirit in all that is. As I learn to give in and let go, I want to be like the water following the path of least resistance, going with the flow as I trust in the universe to continue to guide and support me along the way.
So far this year has been amazing. I've had the chance to see many of my wonderful friends I haven't seen in a long time. And I've had the freedom to choose how my days go. I feel so incredibly thankful to find myself here and now. The earth and this life is so beautiful and I keep trying to capture the beauty that I see so that I can share it with all of you. I'm constantly amazed at what I'm continuing to see and to learn every day. I'm still working on writing my books, painting and music too. I have canvas & sewing jobs in process and soon I will be using my Captains license again as I get the opportunity to take people out on sailing adventures in the amazing San Juan Islands. More information and links coming on that soon too. In the meantime, Thank you for your patience and understanding with me and with yourselves. This life is an ever unfolding adventure with many unexpected twists and turns. In the words of Bob Ross, "There are no mistakes, only happy accidents"... lets enjoy the ride as we paint the canvas's of our lives.
Is it snowing yet?
It's cold here in the NW and its supposed to snow soon. I really hope it does. I want to watch the white frozen crystallized water fall gently from the frigid skies and pile up in layers as a blanket of pure bright sparkling refractions of light on solidified liquid. It's like pure magic the way the clouds are created as they cycle from the earth to the sky in wet and dry forms. It's been too long since it's snowed hard and stuck here so close to sea level and I hope everyone stays safe in the winter conditions. I know it can cause problems for some but I wish for pure aesthetic reasons that we get absolutely covered in snow and that it lasts a little while. That we can all take a moment to look around at the white with the wonder in our eyes that we had as children seeing snow for the first time. To appreciate it for what it is on a level that disregards the potential troubles it causes when schedules get in the way of us being fully present to life as it surrounds us in beauty. Praying for safe travels and happiness for everyone while simultaneously wishing for a wild white wonderland.
Life on Earth...
...is quite the adventure. And Mike Dooley has written a book about it. I first found out about Hay House publishing from my favorite Author Pam Grout and ever since I gave my e-mail address to Hay House my inbox has had a steady stream of new books and authors reaching out for my attention. I love to read and just this morning I took the bait and purchased Mister Dooley's newest book partially for the bonus's promised in the newsletter. Then I joined the private Facebook group immediately and asked a question which he promptly answered during the live web feed on ZOOM this afternoon. Now I'm thankful I have Amazon prime because the book will be here in two days and I can hardly wait to start reading it. Needless to say, I'm impressed so far with the transparency and authenticity oozing from this human being who is sharing himself with all of us. We are all in this together and it's helpful to know there are like-minded individuals who exist in this vast and wild world we live in. I'll keep you posted on the book with a full review after I finish reading it. I love to share. :) And Thank you for reading this.
Overwhelmed
Today I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. Sometimes it all just seems like too much. Most days I feel centered and able to cope with whatever comes my way but today I want to curl up into a little ball and sleep it off. However that is not an option for the part of me that still wants to fight for every second I have available. There are so many items on my list of things to do and the clock just keeps ticking. A salt crystal lamp is emitting a gentle glow in my office as I eek out the words for this blog post. I'm sure I am not the only person who is feeling a bit defeated today by circumstances beyond control. Let us all have faith and trust that everything will be okay no matter what happens in the future or what has occurred in the past. If we each remain present to the fact that there is more to this life than we are taught to believe and appreciate the good things then the future will work itself out. And hopefully this feeling of overwhelm will dissipate.
Dynamic Hands
Apparently theres a whorl in my moon... if there's any validity to what that is supposed to mean then a lot of things make even more sense. What I'm referring to is related to Palmistry otherwise known as Palm reading- the art of interpreting a persons character based on the shape and the lines in their hands. More specifically my experience last night was a type of science-based and well-researched method of interpretation from the Institute for Integrative Hand Analysis which I learned about direct from Roberta Coker of Hand Dynamics. For more in-depth information about this subject please visit Roberta's website. This 3-hour event was hosted at Simply Spirit with Jill Miller and was attended by a large group of diverse & beautiful people looking for some insight into the deeper meaning their lives.
Well, I definitely received some powerful insight into what my hands potentially represent for me as a human being with a soul mission. I would actually love to learn more about this method of interpretation and be able to use it to assist in helping people uncover some core truths about themselves. Roberta is actively teaching others how to use these techniques and is having a 3-day workshop in Vancouver, BC this weekend. I will be racing a J111 in Round The County (sailing a 36' boat as quickly as possible around the San Juan Islands) this weekend so attending that workshop is not an option for me. And not only that I have already committed to a year of Clairvoyance training with Jill which I believe with help me learn a different method for providing the same kind of insights that hand analysis/palmistry does. They both require a certain level of intuition in order to make sense of what the symbols represent. Having the life path number 11 already gives me that hyper-intuitive edge that I'm really just beginning to discover and actually trust in.
This whorl in my moon that I found out about last night is like a fingerprint on my palm. Unlike the lines on our hands which constantly change based on our life experiences, our fingerprints are unique, distinct and do not change. My lovely friend Pamela Leslie gave me a pretty profound palm reading just for fun one night many years ago and I have been paying attention to my hands ever since. I keep watching the lines shift and move on both hands, I've even decided to take a picture of them once a year on April Fools day (no kidding- it's just a good holiday to trigger a reminder), therefore I am doing my own limited research on the subject. I've always had this feeling like the palms are a type of roadmap that can tell us where we've been and how to get to where we want to go. I highly recommend learning anything you can about this intensely interesting method of self-discovery. At the same time we all must remember to trust our own intuition because we are the only ones who know ourselves best and when something doesn't resonate within us there is usually good reason for it.
However, the wisdom I received from Roberta in the quick examination of my hands in this group setting was exactly what I had hoped for. Confirmation that what I have been sensing in my inner world is for real. It's written on the palm of my hand and I have concrete evidence that I can look at when the self-doubt inevitably will knock on the door. Being aware of that means that next time I can choose not to let the self-doubt in and keep moving forward with my plans. I have written several blog posts and no matter how hard I try I can not help but bring some spiritual aspects into everything I do. I'm finally willing to accept that deeply spiritual part of myself and fearlessly let it out into the open with a solid grounded perspective (I am a Taurus after all). Ultimately I truly feel a deep sense of gratitude for everyone for we exist as mirrors for each other, reflecting lessons we could not learn any other way. It's amazing to me to see clearly the interconnectedness of it all and at some point I hope to share a vision I have for our future. We all have our unique roles to play in the grand scheme of this great gift called "life" here on planet Earth. Thank you all for existing.
