Art Critic
I love art in all of it's many forms and I love to create it too. I think I've finally figured out how to ignore my inner critic that says it's not good enough and share my creations anyway.
I learned the hard way that it's best to do things sheerly for the love of doing them. I'm creating art because I feel driven to create and I'm sharing my creations with the hope that it will inspire other people to be able to do the same no matter what their inner Art critic may have to say.
Why is it that so many of us are so critical of ourselves?
It's time to turn off that voice in our heads that talks down to us. There is so much beauty in the world and the beauty is in the imperfections. Nobody is perfect in the sense that most of us think of the word. We are all works in progress and that is part of the reason why we are alive. To experience the process of creation in a myriad of ways.
We are imperfectly perfect, consistently inconsistent human beings who are here to express ourselves from our hearts. We are here to learn about love and connection in a seemingly disconnected environment. Art connects us across time and space, just like dance which is a movement art, there are no boundaries or language barriers, its pure perception, creation and expression. Free yourself from that voice that has been hindering you and create whatever it is that your heart desires.
Do it for the love of it, do it for yourself and you may learn to love yourself more in the process. You are beautiful and unique, there is no one else out there like you. So celebrate your gifts however they may express themselves through you and share them with the world.
$20 bill
I'm still disturbed by the fact that I heard something fall out of my pocket this evening and didn't check to see what it was. I'm bothered by my lack of ability to respond properly when this situation occurred. A sweet boy came up holding a $20 bill and told me he found it under the chairs where we were just sitting. I checked my pocket remembering the sound I heard as it hit the ground and recalling how I had stuffed it there the day before after my friend Kay bought a hula hoop from me. I checked my wallet to make sure I hadn't put it away but forgotten. I took the $20 from him and was grateful but honestly I can't remember if I said thank you. I was too busy checking to make sure it was actually mine though I already knew that it was. I was shocked honestly and thrown off my ability to respond. Afterwards I thought maybe I should have just let him keep it as a Thank you for being honest. Either way, I am grateful he returned my lost $20 bill to me. Just another reminder to stay present in the moment, I think my mind was somewhere else or I would have handled it better. At least I know there are still honest people in the world.
Speaking of honesty, who hit that button today? The one that sent out the "False Alarm" to Hawaii? And why did that happen? Can you imagine the nightmare everyone experienced today in those moments between the warning and the recall? It's hard for me to believe that it happened and I feel deeply for all those people who had to experience it directly. Talk about a shocker. I was shocked by some silly little mishap with a $20 bill. I'm just thankful it was a false alarm and a massive tragedy was avoided. I really hope something good comes out of this. I think about how life can change so drastically or end so quickly. Better make the most of the unknown time that we have. I'm sending out lots of love to everyone all over the world right now and praying that we all can see clearly to make the most out of what is most important in our lives.
11/11 2017
Another day, another dollar, another blog post, another holiday. Today is November 11th, it's also Veteran's day, originally know as Armistice day. Today and everyday I am Thankful for all the Veterans and for all the people in the world who continue to work for Peace. I pray for healing of all the hearts of humankind and believe that one day soon we will all live in a much more connected and Peaceful world.
We must just keep writing it in the sand, no matter how many times its washed away. We belong to each other, we are made of this earth and we are connected to everything in this universe. The almighty dollar is losing its reign as our hearts expand and our consciousness continues to evolve beyond material illusions. More of us are coming to realize what brings true happiness and how priceless that feeling is. Love is the answer without question and we are here to share and expand the love in these seemingly separate and disconnected times. Much love to all of you all over the planet today and always. We are family. Thank you.
Wide Open Spaces
In my head everyday the songs play out as if my life is not just a movie but a musical. If you only knew...
I wish I could telepathically communicate with you right now instead of communicating with these somewhat cumbersome (and at times confusing) words tapped out with my fingertips. I have a lot going on. What time is it? It's time to take action. Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care? I care and to every thing turn, turn, turn there is season... and a time to every purpose under heaven. See I told you and not only that I need wide open spaces like the scene above to clear my head.
Hiking up the towering hunk of granite yesterday, called by "The Chief" by the locals, I was awestruck by the sheer awesomeness of the views. As we climbed from 1st Peak to 2nd Peak to 3rd we just kept getting higher and higher. Only issue was, as they say, what goes up must come down. That trail is uber magical and insanely steep, let me tell you it was most definitely the longest 6-mile round-trip hike I have ever done and worth every sweaty step. It's almost time for me to take off for line-dance class at the grange but before I go and check another item off my crazy long task list I want to tell you about my newest venture.
I was at the beach the other day with my hoops, of course and I met a guy named Joshua who just so happened to be a hooper who is super cool too! He bought a beautiful newly made hoop from me and told me about a space where I could possibly hold hoop classes for the masses. (Okay, maybe not the masses but it's a good-sized space.) I've been wanting to share my love of spinning these circles around and one thing keeps leading to another. I can only take it as a sign that I'm headed in the right direction. Who doesn't need more fun and joyfulness in their lives? I hope you all realize that I'm just a down-to earth free-spirited girl who is doing my best to do what I love while encouraging you all to do the same. I want whats best for everyone and I want to share all the love I have with you. Hooping just seems to be one way to do this.
So in order to put my best foot forward I also signed up with Deanne Love for her online Hoop Love Coach training program this morning. Actually, I was sorta getting cold feet over the whole thing. When I went to her website after getting another reminder email about the June session, I thought, hmmm.... so I clicked a button to find out the total cost thinking it would give me another chance to opt out but low and behold it said "Payment Complete" those three other steps I was expecting didn't happen and I was signed up before I could back out. Not only is it meant to be (apparently), it's an investment I'm willing to make in order to share the best of the best with all of you while supporting her mission too. I've also been told sometimes the best way to learn something is to teach it, (that's never been easy for me) so here I go. Learning and teaching simultaneously, since as you may have already gathered by looking at my site... I love to do it all and all at once.
I gotta run but Thank you for existing in my world and sharing this lifetime with me.
Back in my own person mash-up musical... I got a feeling.... because I'm happy... and I got that sunshine in my pocket... woo hoo! Music makes me wanna move cuz baby I'm worth it.
